The Day I Became My Own Boss!! Like A Boss!!

I am flabbergasted on how amazing this is!!

It was lockdown, EVERYWHERE was shut, I was stuck at home all day and stuck in a rut! Being mum for 24/7 without a break at all and no sign of lockdown ending soon. Perfect Nails in Lockdown

Nail salons and Hairdressers have been shut since the middle of March!

I love having nice nails.

Some people think you get judged by what shoes your wearing, but for me, If someone has nice manicured nails it really says something about that person. After all, your hands and feet are the most used part of a persons body, so if they are looked after, you know the person takes care of themselves and probably everything else they do in life.

Nail Biting

If your a biter and you long to have nice nails, by having your nails all painted nice it can help you want to keep your nails nice, psychologically stopping you from your nail biting habit.

Why would you go to the effort of giving yourself a little manicure if your just going to chew them?? You just wouldn’t would you??

So eventually after a few weeks of keeping your nails pretty, they will start to grow and get healthy and strong. Happy days eh?

Choosing a great nail varnish

You can pretty much buy nail varnish from anywhere. But finding one that is perfect can be tricky.

I’m not a professional and don’t try to pretend to be, so its important to me to find a nail polish that is easy and quick to apply and dries just as fast.

I like ones that have a wide brush so that it can be applied easily with just 3 stokes down the nail.

I don’t like thin brushes as I find them difficult to apply neatly and it tends to look messy. I also like ones that dry really quick because being a mum to 3 kids, I don’t have time (or patience) for them to dry hard.

A lot I’ve tried leave my nails sticky for a while, which if they touch something they end up marking and scratching, which is a nightmare because you either leave them looking a mess or you have to start the whole thing over again.

Euphoric Eyelashes

I am so excited about this new mascara that Avon have brought out recently. So excited that I really felt the need to tell the world about it!

I’ve tried hundreds of different mascara’s over the years and most have made my eyelashes feel heavy and thick (but not in a good way). Unfortunately I wasn’t blessed with long fluttering lashes and don’t like how false lashes feel on my eyelids. Most mascara’s feel like they go clumpy or stick my eyelashes together so they don’t look natural.

Yoga for lower back & hip pain

I came across this fantastic blog recently which is perfect for us young (at heart that is 😂) folk who suffer with lower back and hip pains.

Ive always wanted to try yoga, not just for the physical aspect but the mental side too.

We live in the fastest paced world that has ever been. Everything is rushed and we hardly ever need to practice patients because everything we need is delivered with speed! Information, parcels, coffee, you name it! Go back 10 to 20 years and you will notice the big difference in how crazy the worlds become.

Which also means we are expected to do things at super speed and at quantity. No wonder there’s so much stress, and with stress comes pain.

Our bodies can let out signals of stress in the form of pain (headaches being a main one) but it can also result on other pain around the body.

Fetch in the super gadgets and technology and we are probably the laziest humans have ever been. Our parents didnt have internet shopping did they? And our grandparents probably didnt get a car until they were out of their prime.

We need to start looking after our minds and bodies! I know I certainly do, im mid 30s and have terrible pains in the back (and thats just my husband 😂).

Glitter Glam

Its that time of the year that we all need a bit of sparkle in our lives.

Again The Body Shop have brought it back in our lives.

They have fetched out 3 deliciously scented festive fragrances with each bottle having a whirlpool of shimmer. Spray onto your arms and chest and shine (like in twilight when they stand under the sun, I mean come on, if we could look that sexy why wouldnt we?)

My Beauty Secret to spot free youthful skin

So my last blog way on The Body Shop Youth serum and id only just started using it. Im still massively impressed with this product and since I started using it (as well as a few others which I will tell you about in a minute) my verdict is that its the best anti-aging product I’ve ever used.

Now im in my mid 30s and have or should I say had a few fine lines and was prone to spots. My skin now looks bouncy and soft and smooth and im flabbergasted on the improvements so im going to tell you my weekly skin care ritual so you can try it and hopefully see the same results I have. Every product im about to mention is from The Body Shop, so here goes……..

Once a week

I use the vitamin C microdermabrasion scrub. This is a lovely thick cream which has tiny grains in it. I use this to exfoliate my face, paying special attention to my forehead, nose and chin. Massaging it in circular motions with my fingers. This gets rid of any dry and old skin and smoothes out all the little bumps on my skin where my pores have built up with dirt and make up. It leaves your skin extremely smooth and grub free, it also lifts and elimates any grease on my T zone.

Mineral and Ginger face mask

This is again another thick cream. You cover your face with it and it draws out any oils and injects antioxidants back into your skin. Leave it on for 5 mins and wash off.

Youth serum concentrate

3 drops is all you need. Massage into your skin and you can instantly feel the difference. It makes your skin feel plump and fresh and really soft to touch.

Vitamin E toner

Closes all your clean pores stopping any oils and dirt getting back in. The vitamin E allows moisture back into your skin leaving it looking fabulous.

Last but not least

Vitamin E hydrating face mist

Spray more moisture into your skin. Your face drys up especially with the sun in summee and the heating on in winter so this is essential all year round. A couple of sqirts does the trick. Massaged in again in circular motions.

Im in my mid 30s now and unfortunately have noticed my skin looking very tired and lifeless (3 energetic kids and a full time job has definitely helped towards me looking like ive been dragged out of a morgue). So I have been testing out a few products and this one in particular has really impressed me!

After cleansing my face, its says 2 to 3 drops I squeeze out using the handy pepet lid (which makes sure your not using too much – a little goes a long way!).

Its a thick clear gel and has a light pleasant earthy scent to it.

Its 3 main ingredients are from 3 plant stems, edelweiss (yes its not just part of a song 😁) from the Italian Alps, Sea Holly & Criste Marine from the Brittany coast. These are apparently the “renewal engine” of the plant and one of the strongest regenerating powers in nature.

One thing I love about The Body Shop products is they mainly use natural ingredients and help preserve the nature from which they extract these “miracle” sources from.

Yes I love planet Earth and think everyone should do their part in protecting natures gifts 💚.

Enrich Planet

So anyway, this is to be used morning and night as part of your skin regime before moisturising.

As I massage it into my tired skin it doesnt take long before its absorbed. It didnt leave my skin sticky as some gels do, instead it left it feeling as soft as my 4 year olds skin. It lifted and tighten my skin but also felt fresh and fabulous to touch. I actually can’t believe it, i felt like i had the skin i had when i was younger!

I finished off after leaving it 2 minutes to make sure it had fully absorbed and then applied my moisturiser which is The Body Shop – Vitamin E moisturiser.

My skins got its bounce back after 1 application!! A-mazing!!

This is getting 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 from me. Massively impressed.

Its one of the more expensive products that The Body Shop sells with the Youth Concentrate costing £26 for a 30ml bottle. But…. as i mentioned before you only use a tiny bit each application so can see it lasting a while.

I have to be honest, I would rather spend £26 on a gel that leaves me feeling so good to touch and see than folking out money on botox or any other of these “quick fix” methods (fear of needles doesnt help 😂)

So there we have it. My first review on this product and it does exactly what it says on the tin (or box in this case).

Ive been using this product now daily for over a month so thought it’s time to update my review.

There is still 3/4 off the serum left in the bottle so I can honestly say this does strech over a good few months.

Have I noticed a difference?

The answer is absolutely YES. Before I started using the youth serum my skin looked lifeless, I was prone to spots and also had areas on dryness. A month later and I have no spots (not sure if thats due to the serum or other factors), my face feels really smooth and soft and has a youthful glow to it. A complete opposite to when I started using it.

Do I recommend it?

100% without a doubt yes, its made a huge difference to my face. Makeup is easily applied now lightly and theres no sections where it looks streaky or overly foundationed.

If your having similar skin problems I had its definitely worth investing in this range.
